Since 1923, the “AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers” competition has recognized excellence in book design and production. The entries judged in 2004 include books and book covers designed between January 1 and December 31 of 2003. Categories range from trade, reference and juvenile books to university and museum publications and include limited-edition and special-format books.

This exhibition, on display in the mezzanine gallery during the 50/50 exhibition, showcases original woodblock prints by Jack Stauffacher (one of AIGA’s medalists of 2004) and photographs by Dennis Letbetter, all inspired by Giambattista Vico’s The New Science.
